There is a reason I've been neglecting you...

Nothing makes you neglect a blog like a new job and some wedding planning. And that is just what I did. Neglected my blog. Started a new job. Started planning a wedding.

I am super excited the wedding, even though the planning bit seems to run in fits and starts. And there is the job (not exactly new anymore) – but it keeps me busy.

So, 6 months to go and this is what I have to show for it! (and a few deposits)

Obligatory Valentine's Day post.

I’m really not one for Valentine’s Day. Perhaps it comes from my school days. That horrible feeling of not knowing if you’d be the one getting a card or a flower, or if you’d sit around with nothing.
Either way, these days I still have this sense of dislike for the day. I feel like it’s stupid. Like ‘we’ (the couple) shouldn’t do anything for it, but at the same time I’d like so mini gesture so I can tell people that SOMETHING was done – even though I know how totally stupid it is.
So, in honour of February (which is much more than Valentine’s month – it’s the month of both my boyfriend and my brother’s birthdays) - here are some pretty things that have hearts on them.

1. Delicious milkshake that I want now | 2. mini ban.do hearts | 3. ban.do heart shoe clips | 4. DIY Felt Candy Hearts from Purlbee

Here's hoping your Valentine's Day is whatever you want it to be.

Celebration. And a bridal expo.

It’s been a really great week for me.
After an extremely rough start to 2012, I’ve resigned from my current job and will be going to work for some people I’ve been chasing (like a crazy stalker) for longer than I care to mention. In fact, if I look through my mail, the first time I contacted them was March 3rd 2010. So quite some time ago.

I can’t go into much more detail than that, but I’m absolutely over the moon!

I’m also in a bit of a flat panic, but a good one, as I’ll be participating in my first bridal expo. I’ve got a Fascinating Julia stand at the Bridal Indaba on the 4th and 5th of February – where I’ll be standing around with my Infinity wrap dresses (Bridesmaid's dresses), and a few fascinators - and right now I’m running around (a little bit like a headless chicken) trying to get everything in order. Cannot wait! (But somehow feel like I need a few extra days!!)
I should probably get going and do some work now!

But thanks to everyone that has made my week so great.

P.S. On a sadder note, the problem with starting somewhere new is having to leave the great people you encounter along life’s way. That’s you, Draggit.

Pretty rings!

People at work love teasing me when they see rings on my screen. They’re convinced I’m subtly dropping links and attachments into emails to my boyfriend. Little do they know that I am MUCH more obvious that that. (not really. OK, I am)

On the bright side I’m not totally insane yet. I’ve heard stories about girls changing their man’s desktop background to their ring of choice, or “Absent-mindedly” leaving sketches of Princess cuts set in white gold lying around the house…(Bitches be crazy!)

But let's not get carried away...
This is a ring I’ll be buying myself: The Agate Dusty Ring from Joya

Aren’t they absolutely stunning? And for R595 totally reasonably priced. Love it.

Oops.

Sorry blog, I forgot to feed you. (Good thing you aren't a living breathing thing)

This year I will be better.

Maybe.

A day at the park.

Who knew that Jozi had such lovely, green places to play?

I spent the weekend (or at least Saturday) with my friend Natalie and a few of my dresses in the James and Ethel Gray Park with a camera, some wine, and some worried looking parents. You see, Natalie, my lovely, fearless model, was quite comfortable doing wardrobe changes where she stood. Nothing was flashed, but I'd say obstacle course participants and their parents weren't sure of this.

And the product of the day...

Dresses available at www.fascinatingjulia.co.za

New Styles at Fascinating Julia - Spring / Summer

So, this is just a quick one...

Last Friday I got a few shots of Bailey and Tshepo wearing two of the new spring dresses. They haven't all arrived yet - so for now here is T in what I'm currently calling "The Nautical" and Bailey channelling Marilyn (sort of) in The Sunray.

Thanks beautiful girls!
