There is a reason I've been neglecting you...

Nothing makes you neglect a blog like a new job and some wedding planning. And that is just what I did. Neglected my blog. Started a new job. Started planning a wedding.

I am super excited the wedding, even though the planning bit seems to run in fits and starts. And there is the job (not exactly new anymore) – but it keeps me busy.

So, 6 months to go and this is what I have to show for it! (and a few deposits)

Celebration. And a bridal expo.

It’s been a really great week for me.
After an extremely rough start to 2012, I’ve resigned from my current job and will be going to work for some people I’ve been chasing (like a crazy stalker) for longer than I care to mention. In fact, if I look through my mail, the first time I contacted them was March 3rd 2010. So quite some time ago.

I can’t go into much more detail than that, but I’m absolutely over the moon!

I’m also in a bit of a flat panic, but a good one, as I’ll be participating in my first bridal expo. I’ve got a Fascinating Julia stand at the Bridal Indaba on the 4th and 5th of February – where I’ll be standing around with my Infinity wrap dresses (Bridesmaid's dresses), and a few fascinators - and right now I’m running around (a little bit like a headless chicken) trying to get everything in order. Cannot wait! (But somehow feel like I need a few extra days!!)
I should probably get going and do some work now!

But thanks to everyone that has made my week so great.

P.S. On a sadder note, the problem with starting somewhere new is having to leave the great people you encounter along life’s way. That’s you, Draggit.

A day at the park.

Who knew that Jozi had such lovely, green places to play?

I spent the weekend (or at least Saturday) with my friend Natalie and a few of my dresses in the James and Ethel Gray Park with a camera, some wine, and some worried looking parents. You see, Natalie, my lovely, fearless model, was quite comfortable doing wardrobe changes where she stood. Nothing was flashed, but I'd say obstacle course participants and their parents weren't sure of this.

And the product of the day...

Dresses available at www.fascinatingjulia.co.za
Limited stock in Afraid of Mice, Cape Town.
And a bit more stock available on November 18 and 19 at The Handcrafted Christmas Shopping Event: 19 Lovat Road, Hurlingham.

Until next time...

(re)Introducing...The Infinity Wrap Dress and my website

Thanks to the help of my beautiful friend Hilah and the talented DK my website it up!
Hopefully all the glitches have been taken care of... but I'm sure someone will let me know if they aren't.

Get em' while they're hot!

I've always wanted to wear a hat, but always find them a bit cumbersome.
So when all of my friends started getting married, I decided to accessorise a two dresses for the 6 weddings I had to attend between December and March. Fascinators were pretty scarce at the time, so I started making my own. And now you can have one too! For a wedding, the upcoming J&B met or for day to day styling.

Where can your get your Fascinator? Here! And at Afraid of Mice at the Designgoods market at the Old Biscuit Mill in Woodstock from 9am till 2pm...
