Cat Stew

Ha! Look at all of them! Look!
And can someone please point out the dog?

They draw and cook...

And soon I will too.
The lovely DJ Legwarmer brought this to my attention just this afternoon - but until I've entered this extremely fun looking competition, here's what someone else did...

Christmas wish #2

When life gives you lemons, you're told to make lemonade.

But when life gives Polly Wales lemons, bread, porcelain, steel, or just about anything - she makes jewellery. Unique, beautiful, I-want-every-piece-of-it jewellery.

Get em' while they're hot!

I've always wanted to wear a hat, but always find them a bit cumbersome.
So when all of my friends started getting married, I decided to accessorise a two dresses for the 6 weddings I had to attend between December and March. Fascinators were pretty scarce at the time, so I started making my own. And now you can have one too! For a wedding, the upcoming J&B met or for day to day styling.

Where can your get your Fascinator? Here! And at Afraid of Mice at the Designgoods market at the Old Biscuit Mill in Woodstock from 9am till 2pm...
Prices from R180 - R300

Christmas Wish #1

I have a lot of Christmas wishes.
This is one of them: these little guys from Terrain, made with natural materials like leaves, seeds, tree bark and pine cone chips.  Environmentally friendly Christmas? I think so.

A Brief History

The history of fascinators goes way back to the 17th century. An elaborate hair ornament, they typically consisted of feathers, beads and/or flowers. More recently they have been dubbed the must-have accessory for weddings…either by female guests or the bride herself.
